Fall Tour 2010 has officially concluded! Roadie teams Mac and Cheesy Tentative and Supernova have made it back to the office with a super successful Fall Tour behind them. I had the great honor of riding around with the teams for five of the six weeks of the tour and had the privilege of seeing Roadtrip Nation spreading and impacting students all over the country.
Fall Tour was a bit different this year as we made the focus an opportunity to hold a nationwide Conversation with students around the country to speak out about all of the obstacles we face in defining our own roads in life.
Also, I was lucky enough to have been able to talk to high school students in D.C., the Bronx, Miami, Seattle, San Antonio, and Sacramento. It was amazing to see the reach of Roadtrip Nation, and how it affects students around the country to help them see the different possibilities out there. I feel like it opens a new world to them that they never knew, and it allows them to dream big and challenge what people in their past may have told them that they would be unable to do.
Being able to ride with the Roadies was such a powerful experience; to witness eight people travel the country to share Roadtrip Nation, while they also explore and find out more about their lives and their country was amazing. In turn, I felt like they gave me the opportunity to look deeper into myself to form new ideas, and learn new lessons on life.
It’s good to be back, and I’m so glad to have gained a new perspective on the work that we do. ‘Til next time, take care!
